Gina Kohler

Gina Kohler is a visiting assistant professor and assistant director of the M.F.A. program at Hollins. She holds a B.F.A. in dance from Kent State University (2001) and an M.F.A. in dance from Hollins University/American Dance Festival (2009). Kohler has taught in many locations. She was on faculty at the Brooklyn Arts Exchange where she initiated the Young Women’s Project, taught Modern III, and worked as a co-director for the Brooklyn Arts Exchange Youth Dance Company, BAXco. Kohler teaches hatha yoga and completed her teaching certification through the White Lotus Foundation. In addition, she has done work for Move This World as a Senior Peace Mover in the New York City public school system.

Kohler is thrilled to be working alongside Wideman/Davis Dance as a creative advisor and grant writer, where together, they received a MAP Fund Grant (2013). Kohler has taught as a guest artist at University of Michigan, Dance New Amsterdam, Kent State University, Holy Cross, Salem State College, Frostburg State University, Duke University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and TanzTag Coop (Austria). Kohler has performed with world-renowned choreographers and continues to present her work internationally and throughout New York City.
